Respected Legendary Otologist Dr. S.K. Bhansali Sir, born on 15 June 1936, postgraduated from Mumbai with a MS ENT DLO and started his professional journey in 1965.
He worked tirelessly with profound energy with Dr S.S Balge, Dr P.N. Ranade sir at Department of ENT, BJMC Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.
As a professor and head of department he was a leader admired, though sir retired in the year 1997-1998, the number of student lives he shaped is huge in ENT all across Gujarat.
There are innumerable occasions narrated by whosoever came in contact with sir for his punctuality, discipline, value for time, humane approach for patients, art of connecting with people of all status and humbleness and his consistency in following a healthy lifestyle, no wonder sir being active at this age as well.

Dr H.H.Adenwala Madam , a kind, caring person with a social service oriented attitude and a highly Respectable ENT Surgeon . She has been a Guide to generations of present ENT practioners.
Born on 25th September 1940 , madam joined M.S ENT course under respected teacher Dr. S.S.Balge sir in 1965 and cleared it in 1968 from BJMC, Ahmedabad. Her thesis in those times was the much in discussion and yet holding importance topic - Complications of Chronic Otitis Media. Her remarkably sincere self at service in residency days was such that she didn't spent a single night at home.
After a brief service period at Baroda ,madam joined V.S as a full time practitioner when Dr.J.D.Joshi Head of department went USA and fellow colleague Dr.C.F.Shah and Dr.Shailesh Dutt were giving honorary service.
She was head of department untill the millennium year of 2000.
She has been a part of memorable ENT events be it the First AOI GSB state conference conducted at Baroda as well as the next at Ahmedabad.
Madam actively organized, and hosted International faculties like Dr.Pushalkar, Dr.M.G.Tepan, Dr. vasant Oswal, Dr Sood,Dr.K.L.Shah, and Dr.Anand Shah.
Madam had great clinical and surgical orientation and believed in basics first so she trained residents very well in surgeries like adenotonsillectomy.
Madam being an empathetic and kind person always went an extra mile to help patients ,colleuges, residents and students.
She use to rationalize how she will help unaffordable patients understand priotize and help with treatment. Few examples of same being like she managed arranging pituitary surgery at surgery department in those times and invited Dr.Ranade sir to perform same so that best treatment was delivered.
Another example to quote is the monetary help madam provided for deaf and mute patients for cochlear implant surgeries which she does till date.
For her students and residents madam holds a warmth and care equal to motherhood . Be it her insistence on calling out students to see patients with pathognomic findings to her interest in asking them to pursue books and journal readings she has been there always.
Born on 23 january 1949, Dr. N.K. Mansetta completed his DLO in 1976 and MS ENT in 1977 under guidance of Dr. P.N. Ranade sir.
Sir joined Shardaben Municipal Hospital in 1980 and in his initial 5 years he worked in challengingly primitive conditions and alone.
He worked in era with Dr. C.F. Shah and Dr Dutt sir who were associated with other municapal run hospitals.
The then superintendent Dr I R Joshi sir at Shardaben hospital was instrumental in getting microscope with sir for developing microscopic ear surgery.
Dedication of Mansetta sir was such that sir received memorandum / complain letter when sir worked till late hours of 2:30, quite surprisingly.
He developed his private practice at clinics one in paldi and other one in bapunagar/ samjhu ba trust run hospital, it was a small setup with a dermatology and pathology set up but with sir joining it, it very soon turned to multispeciality hospital.
Sir indeed had a lion's share in development of department of ENT like gathering 1 crore in those times or be it grant efforts from then M.P Mr. Brahm kumar bhatt and contributions from municipal commissioner Mr Keshav Varma.
This led him to be the first one to receive microscope attached with cctv and monitor system from BHEL company - a boon to students in that time who could view and learn otology from sir.
The noble and absolutely noteworthy effort was to establish the very first BSL audiology college for speech and hearing pathologist with Dr. Mallikarjun.
"UMANG SCHOOL" his hard earned dream come reality which stands tall since 25 years, working relentlessly for the deaf and mute, providing vocational guidance as well for a more inclusive sense of rehabilitation.
Savarkundla sir's native place, he expressed his gratitude for the place by developing 110 bed hospital with 200 plus staff which has served more than 27 lakh people till date and is working completely free of cost.
Sir had been humble enough to give honorary services at shardaben hospital at surprisingly Rs 100/- for minimum 30 years and the core emotion of service for the needy has been his constant motivation.
He has been a visionary and continues to have a vision now that his hospital at savarkundla soon have a medical college solely for needy intelligent yet unaffordable candidates for free medical education.

Dr. Yashvant B. Chhatbar, a distinguished ENT specialist, was born on 13 October 1953 in Nageshri, Amreli District.
A National Scholar in SSC, he earned his MBBS from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, with First Class in all years, ranking 5th in the University.
He completed his DLO (1979) and MS (ENT, 1980) from Gujarat University, securing first position in both.
Dr. Chhatbar began his academic career at SSG Hospital, Baroda, in 1980 and later served at B.J. Medical College and various institutions across India, contributing over 15 years as Associate and Professor of ENT.
He retired in 2023 as Professor and Head of ENT at GCS Medical College & Hospital, Ahmedabad.
